RE:BIRTH - sizzling hot summer weekly nights @ Tall Trees in Newquay

RE:BIRTH - a Hardcore Re:volution was born on 21st January 2005 at Tall Trees : Newquay. Within 6 months it has already become one of the finest Hardcore nights in the South West and Cornwalls only Hardcore night to play host to the upfront UK Hardcore + Freeform sound.

With Hardcore dominating clubland of late and with recent Hardcore compilation CDs reaching No1 in the UKs official charts we cry out to all those did not believe us 'HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE!' For the late 90s Hardcore raves were everywhere with the likes of Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, The Shire and The Venue in Cornwall. Then sadly at the end of the 90s the scene got stuck in a rut with nothing new happening in the scene, it certainly looked that Hardcore was about to die. The scene took a big dive when the legendary BONKERS CD Compilation was stopped at No8. Dreamscape announced its closure and Helter Skelter dropped the Hardcore arena from its events and began focussing more on Drum and Bass.   However living up to the constant cry from ravers, 'Hardcore will never die' it is back with avengance. In 2002 yelps of excitement from ravers across the UK were heard when Bonkers was 'resurrected' featuring Hixxy, Scott Brown + Sharkey. To the shock and joy of many others the infamous CLUBLAND CDs by All Around the world Records where featuring many a remix of Hardcore classics such as 'Pretty green eys' and Shooting star'. This helped Hardcore with its comeback as on dancefloors all over the country ravers witnessed the most chessiest of dancefloors going nuts to Hardcore tunes, even though they were much slower remixes. In a way many producers and ravers where horrified that the sound of Hardcore was being commialised and ruined. However royalties etc for the use of these classics where paid to the original producers of the tunes, in turn puttin a massive injection of funds into the Hardcore scene and its of pioneers which they used to by new equipment with the latest technology and studios. With the huge success of Hard Trance + Hard House in the earlier 2000s production barriers where being broken with new sounds and styles popping up left, right and centre and with production technology expanding all the time new innovative sounds were being found. Producers in the Hardcore scene seemed to take on board the Hard House / Hard Trance elements into Hardcore which has been lapped up by the ravers like cats to milk. Upfront Hardcore was born!!!

Soon major events began popping up all over the UK from the usual suspects Hardcore Heaven and Slammin Vinyl The scene also gained support from clubland with the likes of Godskitchen and The Emporium playing host to Hixxys night 'Hardcore Till I Die' and Seductions' 'Uproar' which made Hardcore become more main stream and accessable than prievously at raves. It was fast being labelled as the NEW Hard Dance style cattering for everyones taste, Hard, Trancy, Bouncy, you name it the new sound had it all. This has grown and today you will see the likes of Slinky supporting the scene and even Tidy host a Hardcore arena at all its major events now. The biggest turning point of late is when Hard Dance giants 'Nukleuz' took hardcore under its wing and as well as its massive Hardcore Nation album released earlier this year, which reached No7 in the UKs compilation charts it has now started its own Hardcore EPs, which is already on its 5th release and with many more scheduled for the near future.

We also saw a massive turning point with the 'Clubland' CDs when they recently released Clubland Extreme Hardcore mixed by Hixxy, Breeze and Styles which shot straight to No1 in the UK charts, the rest basically is history in the making.

However with all this going on Cornwall where still behind on the times. With events popping up all over the UK there was nothing in Cornwall. The closest we had was L2s 'Slip back in Time nights' once a month but this only played host to the sounds of yesturyear. We at RE:BIRTH decided this was not good enough and felt that the county needed an upfront Hardcore night dedicated to playing the upfront sounds that is dominating the rest of the UK.

And there you have it, RE:BIRTH was born.  So far gracing our hallowed turntables at our home, Tall Trees in Newquay monthly we have had Sy, Unknown, Dougal, Gammer, Brisk, Madam Zu, The Ting, Kevin Energy, MC Storm + MC Smiley.

From 24th June Tall Trees nightclub was so impressed with the popularity of Hardcore and our night that they have given RE:BIRTH weekly residency throughout the summer until September in Club 3. Where each week we will have our resident DJs plus special guests throughout the scene as well as showcasing local up + coming talent.
