In the beginning, there were 2.
Mark Doggett, one of two original founder members of the then little known KA90, began making noise in early 1991 producing Deep Hardcore. After a slight name change and a signing to 'Kickin Records' in early 1992 'One Love' became K90's first release. This marked the beginning of the career of one of today's most liked and respected dance music producers.
Origins in dance.
After the 'kickin' release, Mark started to explore new artistic boundaries and began to develop his own style of dance music. The Hardcore sound seemed to have run it's coarse, and the more uplifting sound of house music was born. 'The Clueless System' now legendary club promoters from Cambridge put on major events in the city and it wasn't long before K90 regularly pulled in large audiences with an energetic style and rapport with the crowd that continues to this day.
Worldwide appeal.
Now an experienced writer/producer, Mark has performed in many cities around the world including appearances in U.S.A, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Poland, and is also no stranger to stages of some of the UK’s larger dance events. A list that includes super clubs ‘Godskitchen’, ‘Slinky’ and ‘Goodgreef’, hard dance favourites ‘Sundissential’, ‘Frantic’ and ‘Recoverworld’ plus appearances at world renowned dance festivals such as ‘Global Gathering’ and ‘Creamfields’ all culminating to the success of one today’s more harder dance music icon’s.
Serious vinyl heaven.
K90, armed with a string of well known releases, including the unforgettable vocal trancer ‘Breathe’ the filtered synth and bass line driven 'Deliverance', and arguably the hard dance anthem of the decade…’Red Snapper’ also boasts the critically acclaimed album ‘Urban Anthems’ to add to his long list of credits. Mark, also a very capable remix artist, has worked on tracks such as the classic ‘Injected with a Poison’ by ‘Praga Khan’ (Nukleuz) ‘Get a Rush’ by Steve Blake (Tripoli Trax) and 'All Your Bass' by 'Dj Virus’ (Recover) to name but a few.
And finally.
K90, still a resident in Cambridge, continues to work from his studio at home. "I just couldn't write my music anywhere else" he says "the hustle and bustle of a major city like London would be just to full on for me, artistically that is!’ And when asked in a recent interview…“how do you keep up the level of enthusiasm for each event you perform at?” Mark replied with an answer which pretty much sums up the man himself…”When I perform, it’s usually the very interaction with the crowd which spurs on my enthusiasm. They feed off my energy and I feed off theirs, it’s a two way thing” He continues “On the question of ‘do I find it easy to stay enthusiastic for every performance’ my answer would simply be this. I have the privilege of playing my music on stages at some of the biggest events here in the UK and around the world. I work every day at a job I love…and I get paid for it! Who wouldn’t be enthusiastic”?
