Tall Trees, Dan Bailey & Dave Lea
Saturday 21st August
2004
By Feebie

With a small but nonetheless fully up for it crowd, slinky residents Dave Lee and Daniel Bailey took Tall Trees clubbers to the max with a hard and downright dirty assemblage of tunes both past and present! Dave Lee took to the decks first, skipping the customary trancey warm up and launching straight into a blinding set packed with deep, dark tunes dating back to the late nineties right through to today. With sometimes hasty but nevertheless seamless mixing Dave took us back to the dawn of dance music with vintage tunes such as the 1999 hit “Freefall” from Chris C and right back to today with the mind blowing 2004 remix of “Compounded” by Edge 1 amongst many others!

11pm came and Daniel Bailey, Radio 1 and Slinky, joined Dave for a B2B set that sent the clubbers wild. World famous for his awesome scratching talents, Dan Bailey more than lived up to his name as he dazzled us with his fast and furious fingertip action! Clubbers watched in wonder as Dan scratched with unparalleled skill over the top of some serious tunes and eyes widened as he turned his back to the decks and scratched behind his back!

Fans of the dark and dirty weren’t left disappointed as Lee and Bailey took us through to the early hours with mix upon mix of hard and deep sounds such as Organ Doners “Looking for Drugs” and Steve Blakes “Expessions”. For one night only Tall Trees became truly undergound! Dave Lee said of the night “Tall Trees was excellent, we both look forward to doing some Slinky events there next year, the crowd were really friendly, all in all a great night out!”. Dan Bailey added, “ as always, the tall trees crew were on top form. Dave Lee and myself came fully loaded with the harder sound that they like down there and banged it out back to back. I was a little lightheaded due to someone spilling a bottle of poppers in the dj booth! But it all added to the mahem that is tall trees!!”
