The Tidy Boys & Amber D
Saturday 29th of August
, The Barracuda, Newquay
By Feebie

It was always set to be a night to remember and the Tidy Boys Virus debut at The Barracuda didn’t fall short of expectations! Warmed up first by Virus’s own Ben McGowan and then Tidy’s latest leading lady, Amber D, the Tidy team gave clubbers a taste of house music at its absolute finest!

Dressed to impress, The Barracuda played a more than adequate host to the prominent DJs with floating white orbs, drapes and banners, and a perfectly dazzling lights display!

First behind the decks, Ben McGowan treated the crowd to a taste of tribal house with a funky edge – a well put together set with plenty of energy that unfortunately didn’t inspire the crowd to head to the dancefloor, but nonetheless managed to set the scene for the Tidy Trax team.

Things quickly changed with the arrival of Amber D! After initially puzzling the crowd with a brief interlude from MC Hammers ‘U can’t touch this’, Amber dived straight into the fast and the furious with the 2004 remix of Edge 1’s ‘Compounded’. Maintaining the pace from start to finish, BKs ‘Accelerate’ which featured mid set is a good indication of Amber D’s impeccable style on the night! Amber herself had a great time! She said “(the club had) a brilliant atmosphere – everyone was really up for it and I was very pleased to see so many Tidy fans there. The club itself is amazing! I love all the décor and the lights. My top tunes of the night have to be my new tune I’ve done with Ingo called ‘I don’t know’ and also Nick Sentiences ‘Ride the groove’”.

The Tidy Boys took over from Amber D at about 12.30am, injecting vocals and breaks into the pumping and pacey tone set by Amber D. With plenty of hands in the air classic hard dance tunes and more recent edgy sounds, the boys undoubtedly hit the right note as 90% of the clubbers hit the dancefloor and stayed there! Stepping back in time with the legendary track from Heavens Cry – ‘Till tears do us part’, the boys whipped the clubbers up into a complete frenzy! Even Amber D could be spotted stomping behind the decks throughout their set! Once again Virus pulled off a night to be proud of! Roll on the next one…..
